The short version: Advanced Air Conditioning + Heating is a family-owned HVAC company in Cedar Park, Texas — founded by Joe Martel in 2017 from a single truck, run day-to-day with co-owner Bekka Martel, 4.9 stars across 500+ reviews, three-time Best of Cedar Park winner. They were spending over $10,000 a month on a website and ads while private-equity-backed competitors outbid them in every auction. On July 1, 2026 they cut over to a new Hydra OS site — delivered roughly two months ahead of schedule — built around published pricing, online booking, and an 860-page content launch. In Bekka's words: "CI Web Group gave us features our competitors don't have — and a website that finally keeps up with how fast this industry moves."

The problem: renting attention in a PE-funded auction
Greater Austin is one of the most contested HVAC markets in the country, and it's consolidating fast — private-equity-backed platforms with pooled ad budgets keep pushing auction prices up. Advanced Air was living the independent operator's version of that squeeze: $10,000+ per month on a website and advertising that, per Bekka, wasn't producing results to match. The pre-launch search data tells the same story — a month before cutover, the old site earned a 0.41% click-through rate on over 51,000 search impressions. People saw them in results; almost nobody clicked.
The fundamentals were never the issue. Joe Martel — NATE-certified, still taking calls — built the company from one truck in 2017 into a team with 50 years of combined technician experience, an American Standard Customer Care Dealer badge, TX license TACLA77365E, and a genuinely loved local brand (Best of Cedar Park 2024, 2025, and 2026; a September charity program for Superhero Kids). The digital layer just didn't match the operation.
The rebuild: pricing out in the open
Bekka met the CI Web Group team at the WinSupply Austin "AI Advantage" event in 2025. Onboarding paperwork went in April 8, 2026; the target was late August; production DNS cut over July 1 — 84 days from intake to live, about two months early.
What shipped is the most commerce-forward build in this spotlight series:
The pricing rail: Price Lock, Price Builder, and Shop. Where most HVAC sites hide behind "call for a quote," Advanced Air publishes flat-rate pricing, lets homeowners build a system estimate online, lock a price, and even shop equipment directly through an integrated commerce rail. This is the deepest version of the pattern we saw in THE Water Heater Company's configurator — pricing transparency as the trust move that PE-backed competitors, with their sales-commission structures, find hardest to copy.
Booking wired to dispatch. The Book Online flow writes straight into ServiceTitan — a real integration of the kind we flagged as the make-or-break question in our AI CSR comparison, not a contact form pretending.
The conversion and education kit. The "What's going on at your place?" problem spotter, instant estimate and financing calculators (Wells Fargo path), a rebate finder, The Advanced Club maintenance membership ($179/system/year) with its own calculator, a learning center with glossary, a meet-the-team section the staff reportedly loves, exit-intent capture, and a sticky mobile action bar.
The content launch. The site went live with an 860-URL sitemap — 24 service-area pages, 85 blog posts, 21 learning guides, and a service-by-city mesh — counted from the public sitemap two days after launch. Lighthouse mobile scores measured the same day: 99 performance, 100 accessibility, 100 SEO.
Early returns
Two early signals, clearly sourced. Measured: the launch-day scale and page-speed numbers above. Client-reported: Bekka's own Google Search Console observation that discovered pages went from 54 on the old site to 1,323 about ten days after go-live — a different metric than the 860 sitemap URLs (discovery includes generated service-by-city permutations), but a clean indicator that search engines are actually finding the new machine. It's three weeks post-launch, so per our standard we're not publishing traffic-lift percentages that don't exist yet.
The qualitative return came fast, though. From Bekka's showcase: "We are so thankful for Jennifer and her team being in our corner" — with specific credit to the transparency of Slack-and-email project updates and account manager Vee's thoroughness. A brand refresh is already planned for late 2026.
What other contractors can copy
- Audit what your ad spend is compensating for. $10K/month often isn't a marketing budget — it's a tax paid for a website that doesn't convert or rank. Fix the asset, then re-decide the spend.
- Publish your pricing before your competitors dare to. Flat-rate pages, price builders, and price locks convert the researching majority and build trust PE roll-ups struggle to match.
- Demand delivery dates in days, not quarters. 84 days intake-to-cutover happened because the platform generates most of the site; hand-built agency timelines can't compete. Ask any vendor for their number.
- Launch with the library, not a brochure. 860 pages on day one means the compounding starts immediately — the field report explains why content cadence is the moat.
- Your family story is a weapon. Founder-still-takes-calls, team pages, local charity — these are the pages consolidators can't write honestly. Advanced Air leads with them.
The bottom line
Advanced Air is the independent-versus-consolidator story most family HVAC companies are living right now, with the ending rewritten: instead of outbidding PE money in ad auctions, they built an owned asset — transparent pricing, real booking, and an 860-page head start — delivered two months early. As Bekka put it, features their competitors don't have.
